1. The service
FamilySkillz is a family app for chores, habits and rewards. Parents create tasks and rewards; children complete tasks and earn in-app tokens that can be redeemed for rewards the parent defines. In-app tokens, XP and ranks have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money.
2. Who may use the App
You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to create an account. Child profiles are created and controlled by the account holder. Children may only use the App through a child profile on a device connected by the parent, and always under the parent's responsibility.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials, family PIN, and child device codes confidential, and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the App only for personal, non-commercial family use.
4. Subscriptions
- FamilySkillz offers a single auto-renewable subscription ("FamilySkillz Plan") with weekly, monthly and annual options. Current prices are always shown in the App before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
5. AI-generated content
The App includes AI features (avatar generation and a parent Mentor). AI output can be inaccurate or imperfect. Avatars are stylized cartoon images and may not perfectly resemble the photo provided. The Mentor provides general guidance about family routines and is not medical, psychological or professional advice.
6. Acceptable use
You may not: use the App for any unlawful purpose; upload content that is illegal, harmful or infringes others' rights; attempt to access other families' data; reverse engineer or disrupt the service; or use the App to harm a child. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of photos and other content you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the App (for example, generating an avatar from a photo you submit, or showing a task proof photo to the parent). See our Privacy Policy for how content is handled and deleted.
8. Intellectual property
The App, its design, and all content we provide are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time in the App (Profile → Privacy → Delete account). We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (5–9, 11–12) survive termination.
11. Apple App Store
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are resolved by Swedish courts, without limiting your mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the App, and continued use after changes means acceptance.
